He is a seriously funny guy.
If I tell him that he can't have more of something (usually juice or some treat) he says things like, "Mom, just one more and then that's it. No more. Just this last one." He's very convincing.
The other day he came up to me and said, "Baby Sis is pretty."
He only ever calls Paige "Baby Sis" but he says it so fast that it sounds like "Bee Sis".
Baby Sis is totally smitten with Henry. She adores his every move, and she's very tolerant when he is occasionally rough with her. Mostly she just laughs at his crazy antics.
He is EXTREMELY independent. If Dustin or I help him with something that he doesn't want help with, he will undo what we've just done just to re-do it by himself. For example, Dustin helped him into the carseat, so Henry got out of the carseat, let his feet touch the ground and then proceeded to hop right back in the carseat without help. If you pick something up for him, he'll throw it back down just to pick it back up by himself. It's mildly annoying at times, but it's also really funny to watch. He's completely satisfied when he completes the task without help.
He likes to shower by himself, but is entering a phase of not liking to get bathed all that much regardless. He always tells me that I'm going to get soap in his eye (I got soap in his eye like once and he's now convinced it's going to happen every time).
Bedtime is more of an issue now that he can bust himself out of his room. We had the doorknob things on the inside of his door, but he learned to take them off a couple months ago. Ever since then it's too tempting for him and he simply must come out of his room at least 10 times to see what's going on or to try and bargain for more snack.
I'm thankful that he doesn't mind naps. He will often tell me after lunch that it's "night night time" and he goes down for his naps like a dream. Instead of 3 hours, his naps are down to about 1.5 to 2 at the most.
His favorite toys are still anything having to do with cooking and food. We bought him a coffee pot for his birthday that actually "brews" water. He loved it.
He says things like "actually" and "probably".
He often repeats back to me (many, many times) things he knows he should or shouldn't do. We were at my mom's and Henry had a small hammer. He told me at least 15 times, "Don't hit hammer hard, do it nicely" as he proceeded to, as softly as possible, tap the hammer on the table. He will also remind me during the day, "Don't hit Baby Sis." Thanks for the tip, Henry.
This is the "I'm a little embarrassed face."
Someone hates to have his picture taken and had to be bribed with handfuls of M&M's.
Henry's 'thinking' face. It cracks me up when he does this. Sometimes when I ask him what he wants for lunch (before immediately saying 'mac cheese') he will "think" about it.
P.S. He refuses to say that he's three. In his book, he's still two.
