The show was in this amazing and very old auditorium. It was built in 1894 and took just 93 days to build. It's built entirely from wood, minus the iron trusses. It felt like you were outside because there are huge barn door-like entrances all over that were left open. It was nice to feel the breeze blow through. Fun fact: John Philip Sousa performed in this auditorium!
The show was pretty cute. Spoiler Alert: Someone had broken into the Silly Song Warehouse and so they needed to sing the songs to find out if any were stolen. Turns out, Larry was the one who was rummaging through the warehouse the night before while he was looking for some inspiration for his next Silly Song and nobody had actually broken in. Tricky stuff.
I'm sad to report that Henry was acting his age most of the time. We were generous enough to buy him a 'Larry Boy' hat, a spinning lighted wand AND a tee-shirt. Poor, deprived Henry didn't think that was enough. He was pouting and sad for a good portion of the show because his horrible parents would not buy him a 'Larry Mobile' car.
Here he is with 'this guy'. He has noticed his shadow a lot recently and will randomly say, "Mom, what's this guy doing?" while he points to the shadow. Funny stuff.
Henry: in this picture 'this guy' is pouting because he wasn't grateful for the things he had.
This girl, thankfully, was as happy as a clam the whole show. She loved it. At this point she wasn't clapping (she learned how two days after this), so she waved her hands in the air the whole time.
We walked to the beach after the show; it was only a block away.
He calls 'Larry Boy' 'Larry Bird' and it cracks us up. Here's Larry Bird walking in the sand after the show looking for shells.
He's not a fan of posing for pictures anymore... I don't know when the next time I'll be able to get a picture of his face will be.
He was extremely particular about which shells were worthy of coming home with us.
It was really windy, and this is the best picture of me and the girl. Apparently she only smiles and looks cute for the camera when she's with her Daddy.
We tried to eat at 10th Avenue Burrito Company (from Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives) for dinner, but the wait was too long for our starving, tired, naughty children to endure. It's a bummer, too, because it looked awesome! We settled for Chick-Fil-A drive-thru instead.

When I was little, my mom scarped together enough to take me to Disney on Ice. As we walked in someone approached us asking if we wanted to take part in the show and gave us front row seats and I got to be pushed around the ice in Dopey's coal cart during the show. The amazing night ended after I threw the biggest tantrum EVER cause mom didn't buy me a light up wand thing.
But it goes down as a really funny story in our family - so just save this post and remind Henry of it one day :)
that looks like such a fun evening! Even with a pouty little guy. And you look great Les!
Leslie... after our texting back-and-forth yesterday, I have to tell you... I think that picture of you and Paige is FABULOUS! You look great! Glad you guys had a good time at the show--we're big Veggie Tales fans, too!
